This pen was carefully turned out of Elk Antler. I picked a very grainy antler blank. As you could see,it has a beautiful color contrast. The pen has Gold plating. The pen measures approximately 5 1/4 in. I turned this antler and lightly blended the contour to blend with the hardware to give it a unique look.
It is very easy to use, just twist and write. It uses Cross style pens, ball point refills, that you could find in Office Depot or Staples. You will be very delighted with this little beauty, as I was while turning it. I have reduced this beautiful pen and put in the clearance section , due to a slight thinning of the grain in the upper barrel when it meets the middle band. Antler is a very delicate material to turn, but the end result for any pen made out of Antler is a beautiful ,unique and elegant turned Pen. This item was on sale , and I have no idea why because it is so unique and perfect . I would love to have another elk antler pen made if the artist is willing to make another . Great craftsmanship and packaging . I’m excited to give it as a gift !
